24 July 2026 — The Office of Sir Sam E. Jonah, KBE, OSG, wishes to alert the general public, members of the local and international business communities, and investors to a fraudulent website operating under the domain names www.royaldrill.com.
The website falsely lists Sir Sam E. Jonah as a “Founder” of an entity it refers to as “Royal Drill” or “Royal Gold Ashanti,” alongside the late former President of Ghana, H.E. John Evans Atta Mills.
We state unequivocally, categorically, and without reservation that:
- Sir Sam E. Jonah has NO affiliation, connection, or involvement whatsoever with “Royal Drill,” “Royal Gold Ashanti,” or any associated entities.
- Sir Sam E. Jonah has never served as a founder, director, shareholder, or advisor to this company, nor does he have any business dealings or knowledge of its operations.
- The unauthorized use of his name, likeness, and reputation on the aforementioned platform is a clear act of corporate impersonation, identity theft, and attempted financial fraud.
This matter has been escalated to the relevant law enforcement agencies and has resulted in an arrest of the perpetrators. Furthermore, cybercrime units, and international domain registrars have also been alerted to ensure the immediate takedown of the fraudulent platform and the prosecution of the perpetrators.
The public is strongly cautioned against engaging with, investing in, or transacting any business with “Royal Drill” or its representatives. Anyone who engages with this fraudulent entity does so entirely at their own risk.
